Due diligence and Acquisition: Led the acquisition and due diligence for a mid-market professional services organization comprised of a complex team of 6 outside providers and 18 client team members. Assessed both executive teams, recommended a new organizational structure with different roles/responsibilities and supported its implementation. Developed/delivered several workshops on strategic planning and “Learn and Do” skilling to build capabilities to perform due diligence. Provided coaching to the management teams to ensure successful relationships, communications, and alignment. Developed a detailed acquisition and integration work plan, including structured interviews for the due-diligence trips (to the UK); developed interview guides to validate acquisition synergies. Led the due diligence effort resulting in the identification of $5M in annual impact.

Results/Impact

  • Transaction successfully closed for 50% of the original offer.

  • $5M in synergies were all captured during the integration.


Financial Improvement and Exit planning: Supported the CEO/owner of a mid-market hospitality organization, comprised of a resort and real estate company, as external CFO and advisor over multiple years. Prepared monthly financial statements and identified opportunities for improvement during monthly business reviews, resulting in doubling income in 2 years. Advised on several initiatives including 1) the development of 4 new real estate products/concepts for new customer segments 2) the establishment of a new market for guests and 3) the implementation of multiple facility improvements to increase customer retention and reduce cost. Assisted owner in preparing the organization for sale (performed preliminary due diligence, recommended exit alternatives, completed company valuation, and developed a pitch book). Led the research and due diligence of potential buyers. Developed external communication and presented multiple opportunities to the owner.
